Minimal living room decor

I am not a very minimal decor kind of girl, but then again I am also not a crowded place kind of girl...
I mean who really wants a messy house, the more mess, the more dirt it gather, the less hygienic, the bugs, the smells... Oh the horror!
Hehehe, yes I do think like that for real, but not as yucky and ewyed as I just wrote... a little less... or not. ;)

Anyway, I really like that the minimal decoration makes life a lot easier when it comes to cleaning, and finding things. I also love that it usually brings so much light into the place.
So I found a few cool ideas of minimal decor for a living room on Pinterest and thought it would be cool to share.

This one to my option is a bit boring, no real life to the place, but I love the idea of having a hammock in the middle of the living room there to chill out.

This is a minimal I would not mind doing myself. I would probably change the colour scheme though.

This is a minimal I would have without issues.

I find this minimal to be too minimal, seems like I would have just moved in.

I would not do those, I do not like the carpet or the couches.... mmm I think actually I only like the plants... Hehehehe

I actually like the idea behind this one, I would change a few details that to me feel like they clash a bit.

I love this one, but that is probably because it has big windows that open into the garden.

There a few things here that I definitely do not like but the overall idea is pretty sweet.

This is a very masculine and dark room for me. I totally see it in a bachelor's house.

I love white, but that might be too white... No... there is never too much white... hehehe

So what did you think of those places?
Would you do any of them?
Leave a comment letting me know.

  1. Oh to live in rooms like these! I love minimalism. I used to live in Toronto where my apartments and houses were all open plan - I love that. Back in the UK, I make my house as 'flow through' as possible. We removed doors and took down walls. I try to keep the ground floor as 'minimal' as possible but I really need a household PA to pick up after me (and that will NEVER happen unless I win the lottery!) We made the garage into my studio to work in and knocked it through into the house but when I am really busy - I spill out into the rest of the house :-( At the moment I am using all three tables on the ground floor for my work - there is nowhere to eat!) I love your pictures here - I think I need one house to work in and one to live in!

    1. hahahaha I totally get you. I feel the same way as you.

  2. I do have a question about minimalism. I've watch quite of few YouTube videos and read some blog posts, and there seems to be one common thread: everything is in shades of black, white, and gray. Is this an unofficial rule of minimalism? Or have I just happened to stumbled upon a subgroup who like this color pallet?

    1. From what I understand colour is not a limit to minimalism, the amount of things is. It is a very big trend right now to have neutral colours so I guess it is just a matter of coincidence, but there is probably a group of people that also feel like colour is part of it.

  3. I really love all of these looks! I would love to be able to decorate a space like that! I'm very into gray and neutral colors.
