If you still have not started with your summer preparations, then it is high-time to get to it. Opt for a broad spectrum sunscreen, preferably water resistant and remember to reapply it approximately every two hours. This will protect you from radiation, prevent those burns and also defend from sun spots, brown spots and formation of wrinkles and deep lines. Also, make sure to apply sunscreen everywhere - arms, legs, shoulders, neck, décolletage, feet, as you want to protect your whole body, not just your face.
3. Reconsider your products

Although you probably already have an established skin care routine that works well, it is really important to modify the products you use during summer. With the increased heat and humidity in the air, your skin needs to breathe, stay fresh and clean from all the piled up lotions and sunscreens. This is why it is recommended to switch your products and rely more on foaming cleansers and toners that contain salicylic and glycolic acid. Also, try to avoid creamy and oily moisturisers and opt for something that will hydrate your skin but keep it refreshed.
4. Redefining SPF

As already mentioned, sunscreen is one of the most important parts of a proper skin care routine, but it seems like the FDA is very strict about what qualifies as proper sunscreen and what not. Under these regulations, all sunscreen products that protect from all types of sun induced damage will be labelled Broad Spectrum and SPF 15 or higher. Also, manufactures no longer have the right to claim that their products are waterproof, sweat-proof or to actually use the term sunblock. Also, the products will need to specify how long the protection lasts while swimming or sweating.
