Ceiling rose decor ideas


Something I find very classy is ceiling roses.
Now, I had seen these since I can remember but I never knew their names, guess what - it is CEILING ROSE. hahahaha



What is a ceiling rose?
In the UK and Australia, it is a decorative piece stuck to the ceiling from which a light or chandelier is usually suspended.

Why is it called a ceiling rose?
A rose is a symbol of secrecy, so when a rose was suspended above a meeting table it symbolised the freedom to speak whatever you wanted without any repercussion. It was used for that purpose during Tudor King Henry VIII's rule, and since then it has become a standard decor piece over the years.

  3. I really have not seen enough ceiling roses (I didn't even know what they were called before this post!). They're gorgeous, wouldn't mind having one in my future home. :)
