Simple vanilla cookies recipe

There are times that we feel the need to have cookies in the house, and not the fancy ones, just simple but tasty cookies.
These are great simple, quick and easy cookies I used to make even to take to picnics with friends. They loved it!

Ingredients:

(Makes +- 37 cookies if you cut them about 4 to 5 cms diameter and about 0.3 cm thickness)

1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup  milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Preparation:

Pre heat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cream the first three ingredients (shortening, butter, sugar).

Add remaining ingredients and mix with spoon or hand mixer.

Roll dough out to 0.5cm thickness or less on a floured surface and cut into shapes.

Put them on a baking tray and in the oven for 8 to 9 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom and the edges are set.

Remove from tray and transfer onto racks or paper towels to cool.

Serve!

Would you make them?
What kind of occasion would you make them for?

Leave me a comment letting me know.
