Pear on grape juice with vanilla sauce recipe

This is a luxurious dessert, that is super easy to make.
I made it for Christmas dinner, and it looks so fancy and that you spent hours in the kitchen.
This is also my version without alcohol - the original version is pear on wine.

This recipe makes 5 portions.

Pear Ingredients:

500 ml grape juice
200 g confectioner´s sugar
1 cinnamon stick
5 pears, peeled with stems

Pear Preparation:

In a saucepan add the juice, sugar and cinnamon, cook for 15 minutes in medium heat.

Set the pears in the saucepan with the juice mixture and let it simmer for 20 minutes, turning the pears, so the whole pear will get to absorb the juice.

In a deep bowl put the pears, with the sieved juice mix.
Refrigerate for a few hours.

Sauce Ingredients:

200 ml milk
100 ml cream
1 tsp vanilla essence / extract
1 egg yolk
2 tbsp of confectioner´s sugar

Sauce Preparation:

In a saucepan add the milk, essence and the cream and bring it to a boil.

Whisk the egg yolk with the sugar and pour into the vanilla mix slowly while stirring.

Stir continuously until slightly thickened.

Sieve the sauce, let it cool and use it to decorate your dessert!

What do you think?
Do you like it? Would you make it?
