Review: Lush's Mask of Magnaminty - Self Preserving

I have been a fan of Lush for quite a few years now, and one of my favourite products is the mask of magnaminty.

I just love the freshness and wonderful smell it left on the skin, and it did clear up my skin.

Initially that mask used to be water based, and so to avoid bacteria it would be drained as much as possible of water, so it would be a harder mask and after putting it on, if you have dry skin like me, it would dry you up even more.
So I used to put some face cream after I cleared it with the mask. Which was not a problem, I still loved the product.

But then, the new version of the magnaminty came. A oil based one that is self preserving. This one would be even better for my skin type since it wouldn't dry it up.
So I thought, let's give it a go.
The sales woman told me that most people still prefer the old version, and that is why they are keeping both in the brand.
But I don't judge things according to other people's judgement, I give it a try myself.

I must say I do not regret it!
The beauty of the original mask is still intact, smells gorgeous, and makes your skin feel silky smooth and clears it up. BUT it does not dry me out!!!
I did not need to put face cream after, I mean, I do anyways, but not because of that.
It has become my new favourite and I think the brand is doing the right thing by keeping both - I would say though that the old version is for oily skin, and the new version for dry skin, and thus it would probably sell more and make people happier!

I mean in my picture you can't really tell a difference specially because the lighting was different in both pictures, but the feel is definitely different!

I bought the big tub which was less than £10, and it lasts a good while.
So if you think about it, it is not that expensive. It is a good value for money!

Apart from the fact as well that they fight against animal testing which for me is major!!!

Have you tried Lush's masks? Which one? Did you like it?

Want to have a bit of a laugh with my face? Look at this:

Even I got myself frightened there! hehehe
