Pork Chops with Cauliflower Cheese Recipe
This is by no means a healthy dish but it is a very tasty one! YUM YUM!
Ingredients for the marinade:
- 2 pork chops
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Cajun spices
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp mixed herbs
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt an pepper to taste
Preparation of pork chops:
Mix all the ingredients together and spread them on the pork chops. Put the chops with the sauce in a lidded container and let it rest overnight in the fridge.
The next day, warm up a grill pan to medium heat, and add your chops to the pan.
While cooking keep basting the chops with the sauce that is left over in the container.
Let it cook through.
Ingredients for Cauliflower Cheese:
- 3/4 to a full cauliflower head
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 100g grated cheddar cheese
Preparation of Cauliflower Cheese:
On the day of serving, start making the cauliflower cheese before the pork chops. Whilst the cauliflower cheese grills in the oven, the chops can be cooked.
Cut up the cauliflower into smaller pieces and let it boil until tender.
In a pan, melt the butter, add the flour and stir it, start adding milk to it while stirring until it gets to the consistency you prefer.
As soon as you're happy, add 50g of the cheese and stir until it melts completely.
In a baking dish put your boiled cauliflower, pour on the bechamel cheesy sauce, and add the remaining cheese sprinkled over the top.
Put it in the oven to grill until the cheese has melted and started to brown.
We recommend a side salad of your choice to go along with it.
