Lacock Village - The set of Downtown Abbey series

About a week ago I wrote about the Lacock Abbey here on the blog. This week I wanted to take you further, and show you the village.

Lacock is such a beautiful village that its' unspoilt appearance attracts loads of tourists and of course becomes a filming set quite often.
The Abbey as I mentioned was the set for Harry Potter, and the village was the set for a movie called Mariah Mundi and the Midas box, and also for the series Downtown Abbey.

The village is owned almost completely by the National Trust, and so its' glory stays on.

Here are a few pictures I took of it, but they definitely don't show how gorgeous this little village is for real!

What do you think? Would you visit it? Have you visited it?

  5. I love the lead-light windows and also the square paned windows, but how about those chimneys, they are very unusual.
